Day 1.Arrival in Romania in Timisoara
Well drive to in the city of Arad, acc. in hotel 4* and we go to see the nearby village of Sannicolau Mare where Bartok was born Dinner and accomodation in Arad 4* Hotel
Day 2.Arad-Sibiu-Sighisoara-Tirgu Mures
In the morning, road transfer to the Saxon Transylvania, and lunch in the Cristina’s farmhouse near
Sibiu. During lunch, musicians from the village will play for us some "doinas"on a sheperd flute.After lunch , visit of the beautiful town of Sibiu that will be "European cultural capital city " in 2007.Drive through the saxon villages with ortified churches, real citadels of Faith to reach Sighisoara, a medieval town part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Accommodation right in the heart of the citadel in "hotel de charme".Our dinner is accompanied of a quatuor from the nearby Tirgu-Mures Philarmonic Orchestra playing for us pieces from Bartok. Day 3.Tirgu Mures Surroundings
We are this morning in the Hungarian part of Transylvania and stop for lunch in a village where we meet an authentic gypsy band who’ll play for us old pieces of the romanian as well as hungarian and gypsy repertoire. Arriving in Tirgu-Mures, typical transylvanian town with Art-Nouveau architecture. It is ina masterpiece of secession style -austro-hungarian Art nouveau, or Jugendstyle- in the CulturePalace, built in 1920, that we assist to a private concert . Meeting with director and musicians. Day 4 .Tirgu Mures-Sapinta-Baia Mare
Going North to Maramures, region still rich in folklore and preserved traditions. We’ll discover the villages with old wooden churches and visit in Sapinta the Merry Cemetery , and then we’ll have an evening of authentic popular music and dance, this, in probably still the most authentic part of Europe when it is question of folklore.Accomodation in Baia Mare 4* Hotel
